Beyond Territory is the inaugural curatorial issue of Plural Magazine. It brings together twenty-one practices across eight material sections — Drift, Flux, Root, Ground, Weft, Pulse, Remnant, and Breath — exploring how designers and artists work with the territories that shape their materials: shorelines, soil, forest, volcanic ground, and the atmosphere we move through.
Each article was written in close dialogue with the makers themselves, bringing their research, processes, and ways of working to a wider audience — from material experiments and fieldwork to ancestral techniques carried into contemporary practice.
