About

Plural Magazine is an online platform focused on circular design, material research, and regenerative practices. It unites art, design, craft, and cultural heritage to explore urgent questions of our time: How can design move beyond sustainability to actively repair ecological systems? How can creativity promote social equity and cultural resilience? And how can we adopt a more-than-human perspective in design—considering not only people but also the broader web of life?

The magazine serves as both a source of inspiration and a venue for critical reflection. Through curated articles, interviews, and visual essays, Plural showcases projects that challenge linear models of consumption and propose alternatives grounded in regeneration, slow production, and respect for traditional knowledge. At its core, the magazine is deeply committed to material research, investigating how biology, technology, and craft intersect to create materials that are not only functional but also culturally and environmentally significant.

Plural Magazine was founded by Nina Zulian, a Brazilian curator, designer, and writer based in Amsterdam. Her research emphasizes contemporary design, art, and craft, with a particular focus on materials and processes that transform waste into valuable resources. Nina's approach incorporates social and historical dimensions, weaving traditional knowledge into contemporary practices while fostering cultural, ethical, and critical perspectives.

The vision of Plural Magazine is to act as a bridge—connecting designers, researchers, and makers with a wider audience and opening up dialogue on how material research and creativity can contribute to ecological, social, and more-than-human regeneration.
